DirectHalerTM Combination

Combination therapy is when two or more medication doses are taken simultaneously or in sequence for a specific therapeutic purpose.

The DirectHaler™ Pulmonary and DirectHaler™ Nasal technologies will open new application opportunities for Pulmonary and Nasal delivery routes in combination therapy. As each dose has its own DirectHaler™ device, then each dose+device is to be considered as a basic “building brick” for any pulmonary or nasal combination therapy and dosing sequencing.

Patient compliance is key. Therefore we have developed a series of new technology options, based on the DirectHaler™ technologies, for facilitating combined drug administration. We call these: Compliance Systems.

Four different DirectHaler™ Compliance Systems will be introduced below. They open a range of drug delivery combination options, which have not been available before. All four Compliance Systems apply one or more of our two basic devices as “building bricks” for combination therapy:

For a detailed introduction to each of these two DirectHaler devices, please refer to the sections “NASAL” and “PULMONARY”.

-
Local action + systemic action or
- Rapid onset of action +
delayed and sustained release.
